Brand History
Born in a clock-makers family, Bernard RICHARDS was quite logically led to study at the Horology and micro-mechanics Schools of Paris, and to be filled in turn by the love of traditional clock and watch making.
This knowledge enabled him to create his own watch, a unique model, reflecting his passion for mechanical sports, and more particularly for the automobile competition. Thus was born the GP44, very first model of the BRM collection, a watch which was immediately adopted by customers eager for authenticity and originality.

5 people plus 11 digital machines, settled into converted premises in his farmhouse in the French Oise area, were enough for him to start, then globalize his production.
Since then, and within only three years, his custom has ceaselessly gone increasing, recognizing themselves in an item offering them its uniqueness through the imperfections of its raw materials ( so much like sports car parts ), rather than over-polished and over-brushed stereotypes.

For that reason, each watch is comparable to a competition car prototype, since it is entirely hand-made, and shows its very own qualities and defects.

The only French watchmaking manufacture, we entirely imagine and make our watches, which we propose to a well-aware custom, fond of singular items filled with the automobile competition world and spirit.
Every single piece, hand-made and adjustable to the particular tastes and wishes of each individual, is a special and meaningful creation.

It appeared to us as logical that we had to equip ourselves with our own horologer workshop, which now consists of 6 people working with the most sophisticated and recent equipment existing on the market. Thus, we are able to control each stage of the making of our watches.

The machining of our parts will never be comparable to the standard serial machining which one currently sees on the watch market today, and which is attached to a tasteless perfection.
On the contrary, BRM determinedly wants to flaunt a unique French stamp which seems to attract more and more people, considering the delivery deadlines required to get a BRM watch today.

Each part of our watches are the result of our machining primary metal bars or other raw materials ( stainless steel, titanium, aluminium, carbonﾉ )
We will never stamp our pieces, since only by brands anxious to make big series of pieces at a minimum cost are attached to this practice.
We make our own screws, push buttons, lugs, crownsﾉbut also our own jewel cases and display shelves.
We constantly control everything, a hundredth of millimetre being our maximum tolerance, and each part is meticulously checked before being set.
Every function of the watch is tested, as well as its waterproofness.

The boutiques composing the list of our retailers throughout the world, while becoming more and more numerous every day, are nevertheless quite representative of the high quality standards and the status of our brand.
After only 3 years existence, 45 retailers work with us.

BRM doesnﾕt stake on annual mass production, on the contrary, very few watches are made, which enables us to be more attentive to the individual needs and expectations of our customers.
Its consists of offering them the largest range of possible options, so as to allow them to personalize their watch ( hands, dial, case, strap, colours, appliqu仕 ornamentsﾉ ), but also of sparing them time enough to answer properly their questions and to correctly come up to their expectations.
As a matter of fact, only 200 watches a month are produced in our premises.

2006 will see the birth of the first BRM movement, totally imagined, made, and set within the walls of our manufacture.
